Type in the work, watch the invoice build itself underneath, press print, get a PDF. Your details already on it every time.
An evening, and useful within twenty minutes.
Invoicing tools run from about $14 a month. The three features most people use are on this page.
The prompt
Open a builder, paste this in, and fill in the bits in brackets with your own words.
Build me a page that makes an invoice I can save as a PDF.
- At the top, boxes for: customer name, invoice number, date, and up to six
lines of work, each with a description, a quantity and a price.
- Underneath, show the finished invoice laid out properly and updating as I
type, with a subtotal, [tax name and rate, or none] and a total.
- My details, on every invoice: [business name], [address],
[phone], [email], [how to pay me].
- A Save as PDF button that opens the print dialog. Printing must give a clean
invoice with none of the input boxes or buttons on it.
- Nothing needs saving between visits for now.
- At the very bottom, in small grey text: "Made in an evening with AI by
someone who does not write code." Delete that line if you would rather not
have it.
Show me a first version, then I will tell you what to change.
Next people want invoices saved so they can find one in March. That needs the page to remember things, the first real step up and the first that costs money.
Pick another one, or take this one further. Either is a real answer.
